The first Total Warhammer's Norsca DLC race have become playable in Twarhammer 2's cross-game Mortal Empires campaign, the new 'The Queen & The Crone Lords Pack' paid DLC is out now, new free DLC adds a brooding new High Elf for everyone, various races have received powerful buffs, and elite units from the first game are now in the sequel too. Heck I didnt even want to finish the campaigns after 100 turns so I did have to push myself a bit despite boredom. It's a big and fighty day for Total War: Warhammer II, with extra factions, units, and lords flooding in from all over. I cant think of a single feature that was unique in this game and after playing 3 campaigns I have zero interest in ever playing it again. Otherwise the game is simply too generic and too similar to everything else that has come out the last 15 years. Overall I would say this game is slightly above average and I strongly suggest that they focus on one element in the future and push it to give the game some character. The story is super generic and dull and there is practically zero character development. Once your army is large, it literally feels like the heroes are all generic and just another unit taking the charm out of the idea of heroes and RPG advancement. In this game you recruit heroes (and lords) but the problem is there is little variation between them resulting in everyone being a generic carbon copy of each other. RPG elements exist similar to many 4x games like Fallen Enchantress or Endless Legend. You also cannot customize races, factions, heroes or anything like that.

I like the army management but I wish battles would go faster. Its very slow due to how many hit points everything has and how little damage units do especially early in the game. Its actually pretty fun but gets old real quick. RTS elements are available during combat. Even Stellaris and Star Ruler offered more 4x content than this game. 4x is there but much shallower than games like Galciv or Civilizations. 4x is there but much shallower than games like Galciv or Tries to combine too many elements but does not excel at any of them. Each Legendary Lord has a unique geographical starting position, and each race offers a distinctive new playstyle with unique campaign mechanics, narrative, methods of war, armies, monsters, Lores of Magic, legendary characters, and staggering new battlefield bombardment abilities.

Playing as one of 8 Legendary Lords across 4 iconic races from the world of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, players must succeed in performing a series of powerful arcane rituals in order to stabilise or disrupt The Great Vortex, while foiling the progress of the other races. The Great Vortex Campaign builds pace to culminate in a definitive and climactic endgame, an experience unlike any other Total War title to date. The second in a trilogy and sequel to the award-winning Total War: WARHAMMER, Total War: WARHAMMER II brings players a breathtaking new narrative campaign, set across the vast continents of Lustria, Ulthuan, Naggaroth and the Southlands. Meanwhile a fourth, secretive race stirs, their motives obscured by sinister plots and machinations. He tastes great weakness in the vortex - and great opportunity in its demise. The Witch King Malekith and his sadistic Dark Elf hordes spew forth from Naggaroth and their labyrinthine Black Arks. He, too, is intent on preventing cataclysm, though the methods of The Old Ones must prevail. Atop his palanquin-throne, the Slann Mage-Priest Mazdamundi directs his Lizardmen war-hosts as they surge northward from Lustria. He, too, is Prince Tyrion, Defender of Ulthuan, guides the High Elves in their desperate efforts to stabilise the vortex as it roils above their home continent.
